Our details are on the Contact Page. Speaking of challenges, I found it very challenging to come up with my trading name some years ago.     

Cakes! cakes! cakes! Who’d ever think what’s in a name. But how I agonized over this. All Occasion Cakes Darwin NT, Birthday Cakes Darwin NT, Cakes Darwin NT, Kids Cakes Darwin NT, Wedding Cakes Darwin NT – but none of these seemed right for me. Darwin and the Northern Territory are so important as I've always lived here, where I've grown up and where my family and business are. I'm a local. Should I include these places in my business name or just put them on the website? But what about the cakes? I quickly scribbled down a list of cakes: anniversary cakes, baby cakes, birthday cakes, christening cakes, engagement cakes, fun cakes, kids cakes, novelty cakes, picture cakes, retirement cakes, wedding cakes, round cakes, square cakes, 3 tier cakes, etc, etc. Decisions, decisions.  

Maybe if I put my cakes into different categories it may become easier to come up with a name. So that's what I did as you can see running down the left hand column of the page, below the heading About Rachael :wedding cakes to business cakes.  I was feeling quite pleased with myself  but then I realized I was still nowhere near  a name. So I slept on it and you know what it came as a flash first thing in the morning. Not the name but how to go about getting one.

The business I planned is about involving people to design their cake. So they have true ownership and I’m simply the one to help put it together. I love this interaction with my customers because it allows me to keep learning and it makes me stretch my art and craft and baking and pastry skills to aim for the perfect cake. So after much time, thought and deliberation I came up with Rachael's DesignaCake to reflect what we do, my customers and I, to create their special cake. Every cake is unique - custom made and designed  especially to suit the occasion and always made with heaped servings of love and good will to spread around.  So Rachael's DesignaCake was born and I'm proud to say it is the right choice because a few years down the track it has won awards nationally and in the Territory.
